The DF7G disel locomotive is manufactured by the Beijing Feb. 7th Locomotive Works Co., Ltd. for the CNR.
It has adopted a cab forward type construction with a small bonnet similar to that of an American yard switcher.
It is a six axle modulad drive system powered by a 2400 kW diesel electric power unit.
The pulse supercharging system provides low fuel consuption and high output power.
The locomotive is equipped with a computerised control system, AC auxillary transmission system and roller bearing suspensed traction motor.
With a top speed of 100 km/h, the DF7G lends inself to be used in large marshalling stations, industrial and mine enterprises.
